HAILEY PARK SPORT & GAMES AREA OPENS IN SEPTEMBER 2026
Wales & British Lions Rugby Star Jamie Roberts (Centre in picture) joined us for the formal opening on the 4th September 2026 of Hailey Park Sports, Exercise & Games Area.
The design included consultation with over 180 children from 5 local schools, who selected their favourate sports. Creative Exterior Solutions participated in an earlier survey called HER park in April 2025 with Cardiff University Geography Department & Make Space for girls. One interesting fact was 69% of teenage girls requested a safe area to meet, sit, and catchup with friends.
The Design
The design include 4 areas providing opportunities for all ages and abilities: A 'Catchup Seating Area', a practice games area (with 9 sports), a Competitive Games Area for Basketball, netball, football, and volley ball, and a mini Calisthenics area. The design also includes low concrete seat walls which included the names of Local Sport Stars who grew up around Hailey Park, designed to inspire the next generation, including Jamie who opened the park!
